Cadence - Birth Order
Traditionally the family Achievement reflects the heritage of the dominant male of the family. The sons would also use the fathers shield but would add Cadence signs to signify their relative primacy. See Prince Harry's Achievement as an example.
The Label Argent signifies he is the first born of Charles, the Prince of Wales, hier to the British throne, and Princess of Wales Diana. His brother would bear the Crescent Argent. The shell, or Escallope, on the Label comes directly from the Spencers, Lady Di's families Achievement. The Crown Royale is specific to English monarchy. Note that the supporters and the lion on the crest also wear the Label.
